To explore fecal calprotectin levels in pediatric ulcerative colitis (UC) in relation with the validated clinical activity index PUCAI. Methods. This retrospective study included all children with UC who had calprotectin measured and clinical data recorded for the assessment of the PUCAI at the Children’s Hospital of Helsinki from December 2005 to January 2012, most samples being from the three recent years.
